Double Your Nail Polish’s Lifespan

Considering how dry and gloopy most nail polishes get after a few months, it’s a miracle my toiletry bag hasn’t hardened into one solid rock of glass and acetone.¬†If you can even get it open, most polishes (even expensive brands!) turn thick and sticky, making an even coat nearly impossible. A few years ago, Megan taught me to just add a few drops of nail polish remover to fix this problem, and it works like a charm.

Acetone is the main ingredient in nail polish remover, and it’s ¬†also a major ingredient in nail polish itself. So by adding about a quarter-capful of nail polish remover to your nail polish, you’re just thinning it out and diluting the mixture.

Shake the bottle and you’re ready to go!
